Also called tokens or checks, casino chips are used in place of currency in casinos. The chips are interchangeable with cash at casinos. One can exchange money for chips at the gaming tables and at cashier station. These casino chips have no value outside the casinos so they should be exchanged for money while leaving the casino.

For slot machines the chips or tokens are made of metal and for other table games, colored metals tokens or compression molded clay chips are used. These chips are of various denominations except the roulette chips which are unmarked and used exclusively for roulette game.
